We built PlaceAut to help autism families find trusted places and products. Our recommendations come from experience working with autistic children and their families — not from whoever pays us the most. That will never change.
Why PlaceAut Uses Affiliate Programs
PlaceAut is an independent platform founded by a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). Affiliate commissions help us:
- Keep the parent directory completely free
- Fund bilingual (English + Spanish) content creation
- Pay our virtual assistant who builds and maintains listings
- Grow the platform to more Florida cities and eventually nationally
Without affiliate revenue, PlaceAut could not exist as a free resource for families. We are transparent about this because we believe you deserve to know.

We aim to label affiliate content clearly wherever possible. When in doubt, assume any product link may be an affiliate link.
How We Choose What to Recommend
PlaceAut was founded by a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). Our product recommendation standards are non-negotiable:
- Every recommendation includes a sensory or practical reason explaining why it may be useful for autistic children
- We never recommend a product solely because of a higher commission rate
- We review products based on sensory appropriateness before recommending them where possible
- We disclose when a product has been provided to us for review
- We remove recommendations if a product no longer meets our standards, regardless of commissions
Affiliate relationships have zero influence on PlaceAut’s business certification decisions. A business cannot buy a PlaceAut badge. Certification is earned through a verified 20-point evaluation process.
Your Price Is Not Affected
✓ When you purchase through an affiliate link, you pay the same price as any other customer — or sometimes less if PlaceAut has negotiated an exclusive discount code for our community. We never mark up prices through affiliate links.
